From the supplier: The entry of large warehouse store chains such as Aikenhead, Home Depot Inc and Eagle Hardware and Garden House Inc into the Canadian home improvement retailing industry poses new problems for local retailers. Many Canadian retailers fear that the increased competition from the large warehouse store chains will force them to close down. However, analysts believe that the small retailers can successfully compete with the chain stores through proactive pricing and high quality customer service.
